1867 April – Bunjirō 文次郎 attached to Isokichi’s daughter in Lenton & Smith troupe passport records which left Japan on the Ganges late April 1867

Probably not the same person as Shintaro Bungo, also a tub balancer, who arrives in USA in June 1867 with Baldwin & Gilbert Great Dragon Troupe – is overlap in July 1867 with Bunjiro being in Batavia and Sintaro Bungo being in USA in June and Dublin in August 1867.

1867 July – in Batavia as Bungero, performing with Shingorō with multicoloured screen. Gengero.

1867 December – arrives in Melbourne with Lenton & Smith. Bungero performs tub act with Chiyokichi. Screen balancing. Opens and shuts an umbrella some six feet in diameter with his feet and balances it in every conceivable way

1868 May Bungero pedal balancer in Tasmania

1868 May Bun-ge-ro pedal balancer to September then New Zealand

1868 October Otago passenger list for New Zealand says Bungero is 21 years old.

1868 November – Bungero’s large and small tubs. Bungero’s Kihida

1869 March – Huntly Castle Beenyero from Sydney for Shanghai, then to Japan?

Could he have been in Britain February 1871 to March 1873 as Bungrosan in Great Dragon Troupe after Tannaker merger? But March 1873 clashes with re-appearance in Australia – could be misleading advertising as is only in March 1873, before which, appeared in October 1872 in Britain.

1871 March Bungrosan Japanese Tycoon Dragon Troupe Banbury, Buckingham, Spalding

1871 April 2nd census – only possible fit with Bungrosan is Kagami Katsugoro aged 45 in Luton boarding house with other members of Great Dragon Troupe. Or could be Hasegawa Masajiro 26

1871 December – Bungrosan with Great Dragon Tycoon Japanese Troupe 14 in number, including Harrosan, Godia, Tommysan, Yasso, Otorryanase, Torrakitchie, Otakesan, Little Boy All Right, Tommy the Wolf. Gloucester

1872 October – passport issued for Suzuki Bunjiro aged 43. Tub/Pedal balancer is in the Satsuma Troupe in employ of Pasquale for 2 years. Troupe departs 8 October for Bombay from Yokohama. Igarashi Hikotaro aged 11 is a climber for Bunjiro, Ichitaro aged 9 climber and balancer for father Bunjiro

1872 November – Royal Tycoon Troupe of 13 artistes arrive in India, including Bungaro tub balancer start performing 11th November.

1873 March – advertised as performing in Berwick.
