1790 Yanagawa Itchōsai I born
Yanagawa Itchōsai I performed the butterfly trick in Edo/Tokyo from the 1820s onwards and was visited by the then Shogun in 1837.
1819 Yanagawa Itchōsai, also known as Asakichi born. Could also be Yanagawa Itchōsai II, other names Daijirō, Bunchō
1847 Yanagawa Itchōsai I was allowed to have the name Bungo Daijo 豊後大條.
1847 Yanagawa Chōjurō 柳川 蝶十郎 (later Yanagawa Itchōsai III) born. Real name Aoki Jisaburō, and maybe also have had the name Chōnosuke.
1858 Yanagawa Itchōsai I entertained Lord Elgin

1868 July – Matsi Giansi, Asakichi, Yacopo, Kameschi, Kosakichi, 2 female musicians in Nimes (L’Opinion du Midi, 15 July 1868 p 3)
1869 March – Chōnosuke and the Great Dragon Troupe return to Japan from Sydney via Shanghai
1869 July – Le Cirque Imperial Japonais – same who were in Paris Exposition – under the direction of the Godefroid/Godfroy brothers – Kiainsi top spinning, Ka-me-chi and son – pyramid of Yedo, Mlle Ko-sa-ki-chi and Jacobo, ladder and wire dancing (Journal de Charleroi 11th July) Asakichi aged 50 is in Charleroi Belgium with his third wife No-A-Ba, a 16 year old female.
1869 August 12th – Journal des Baigneurs says that 7 have died of the troupe that performed in Paris. The 7th is No-A-Ba, wife of Asakichi, who died in Belgium and also their daughter.
1869 Asakichi returned to Japan (according to Miyaoka)
1870 Yanagawa Itchōsai I dies at the age of 80
1872 son of Yanagawa Itchōsai II born – Kiichirō, Chōkichi, Chōtarō
1873 July – Echowsi, a juggler and conjurer, aged 53, with the given name of Chōshichirō in the passport records, leader of a troupe in Australia, including his apprentice Chōtarō aged 15. Studied under Yanagawa Itchōsai but used name of 生駒近江大掾. Is probably Yanagawa Itchōsai II given age. Calls himself Itchōsai III.
1874 Echowsi/Yanagawa Itchōsai returns to Japan from Australia
1882 joins Yanagawa school and changes name to Chōryusai
1885 Yanagawa Itchōsai II dies
1887 Chōtarō (Nishida Chōtarō b 1858) in Melbourne is contacted by the consulate on behalf of his mother who has not heard from him since 1875
1906 Yanagawa Itchōsai/Chōryusai becomes Itchōsai III
1909 Yanagawa Itchōsai III dies
