1910 April – Unotaro Ishikawa arrives, aged 20 on the ship with the other performers for the Japan British Exhibition

“Royal Togo, described as a Japanese top spinner, produces a very pretty and clever act, but his last item, “A slide for life,” in which a rope is stretched from stage to roof, and up which he ” walks,” and then slides down a great speed, is decidedly thrilling. His offer to take any lady up on his back, but no one accepted last night, in fact, most ladies present were glad when he arrived safely on the stage; it is undoubtedly a most daring performance” (Halifax Evening Courier, April 11 1911)
