The Java Brothers 1942 – 1950

The Java Brothers were sometimes a trio and sometimes a pair, consisting of Ryunosuke Iizuka, and possibly his sons or maybe Jujiro Deguchi.

1943 August – The Java Brothers are the best pair of equilibrists that have been seen for some time – Chester

1943 December – The two Pekin Policemen are played by the Java Brothers and score also in their speciality number – Aladdin – Harrow.

1944 October – In a more strenuous way the Java Brothers perform exciting feats of gymnastic trickery – Manchester

Acrobats, hand balancers, equilibrists

1945 September – On the purely acrobatic side, the Java Brothers have a fascinating act, including roller skating while standing on the hands

1946 June – rounds of applause punctuate the act the Java Brothers, whose balancing feats have be seen to be believed. The pair are as much at home on their hands most people are on their feet and some of their feats are marvels of muscular skill and dexterity – Skegness

1947 January – One particularly enjoyable speciality act is that of the Java Brothers, who in addition to appearing as the Chinese policemen, give a remarkable display of acrobatics – Harrogate

1948 August – the balancing feats of the two Java Brothers – Eastbourne

1949 August – Making their first public stage appearance in Burnley, their home town, are the Java Brothers, who present a unique balancing act.

1950 through to December The Java Brothers give a vigorous display of tumbling and balancing, concluding with roller- skating on the hands.
