Among the more noticeable feats, were what are called ‘‘the pyramid of boxes,” ‘the fox screen,” and ‘the broken ladder,” which, for skill and cool daring, could scarcely be excelled. 1882 July – Chiarini’s circus tours China with some Japanese performers – Ioshimatz, Kagami Sentaro, Hashidzuna, Hayadzuma Koinosuke
1888 August – Woodyear’s Royal Australian Circus “No circus nowadays is complete without a Japanese troupe, and this one is provided as usual, Messrs. Chosabura and Tomi Kitiche doing very clever business with barrels and tubs.” North China Herald 18 Aug 1888
