1904 May – Haruge Theodore Tadda born to George and Catherine Tadda in Mutford, Lowestoft, Suffolk.

1904 October – Japanese Widows and Orphans.—M. Tadda, Japanese who all the summer has been carrying on business on the Britannia Pier, has made a final clearance for the season of his box in which the contributions of the public were invited for the aid of the widows and orphans of Japanese soldiers and sailors. Between September 10th and October 4th there was dropped into the box £1 16s. 8 1/2d. which we believe is the best month’s total we have recorded for this excellent effort. The money subscribed has been forwarded to the Japanese Embassy in London, whence it will be remitted to Tokio.

1905 September – Mr. Tadda informs us that he has just cleared the box placed on the Britannia Pier to collect contributions for the Japanese soldiers and sailors orphans fund, and with a donation of 7s 6d given him by a Yarmouth gentleman, he found £1 16s 11d which he has now forwarded to Viscount Hayashi, the Japanese ambassador in London, to be forwarded to Tokio.

1914 Queenie Tadda is a pupil of music teacher Kate Yallop – Yarmouth

1914 A Doctor Fetched. Florence Chambers, 32, Teveril road, said that Mrs. Raywood and her daughter, Mrs. Tadda, stayed at her house Friday night. A doctor had to be fetched the Saturday morning, and he advised her to have Mrs Raywood removed to the Workhouse. She did not know why Mrs. Tadda herself had not arranged for her mother’s removal. She (witness) had not the authority of the son. The medical evidence showed that the woman died acute pneumonia of four or five days’ duration. She was very weak when admitted to the Workhouse, and it was said to very injudicious to bring Sheffield in her condition. She had been living in Lowestoft and was meant to stay with her son in Sheffield, but he had not received the telegram warning of her arrival, so had been absent.

1918 Catherine dies aged 42, of a brain tumour and post operative asthenia, at 59 Crown Road, Great Yarmouth, buried at Caister.

1921 census – George Tadda in Great Yarmouth, oriental goods dealer, widow. Resident Japanese. His daughter Queenie, 22, single, born in Sheffield, home duties. (crossed out) Haruge, son, 17, born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, farming student.

1922 Haruge Theodore Tadda emigrates to Canada, claims father is British born and mother born in Scotland, drops “Haruge” name.

1925 Miss Queenie Tadda is bridesmaid at a wedding in Yarmouth. She was in grey crepe de chine, trimmed with Chinchilla fur and shoes and stockings to match. Her hat was grey Georgette, and her bouquet pink carnations. Her gift from the bridegroom was travelling case.

1925 Special display at Bobby & Co in Exeter of kimonos. “The writer was received by a charming young Japanese lady, O’kiku Tadda-san from Tokio.” Also O’Kikusan showing kimonos in Jenners, Edinburgh.

1998 Haruge Theodore Tadda dies, aged 93, in Manitoba, Canada
