1884 March – four Japanese climbed like cats on a rope to the ceiling of the circus. One of them hung his legs on a floating trapeze, grasped a triangular frame from which three 4- to 5-meter-long rods hung loosely, and now the three others climbed, the oldest of whom may be 20 years old, the youngest 10 years old, Each of them held up one of these sticks and performed their hair-raising tricks on them. As far as we observed, the visitors to the circus were very approving of the performance. Torikata troupe with Frankloff Circus (Cologne)
