1872 leaves Numazu Military Academy and moves to Tokyo, entering Ministry of Home Affairs

1876 arrives in America to oversee the Japanese display at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia

1877 enters First National Bank, (established by Shibusawa Eiichi) plans Shanghai office in conjunction with Mitsui & Co, transfers to Shanghai. Then transfers to Mitsui & Co Hong Kong, then Paris

1879 transfers to Mitsui & Co London office to act as branch manager

1881 Recorded as Abotoabi Sasase, aged 29, married, merchant, born in Japan in April England census, living as a boarder at 27 Walterton Road, Paddington, with a 15 year old scholar called Yusakei (Yusuke?) Masuda.

1885 Returned to Japan.
